April 2020 erhielt der Forschungscampus MODAL den Förderbescheid für seine zweite Förderperiode von 2020 bis 2025 mit einem Fördervolumen von 10 Millionen Euro durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) und einem noch darüber hinausgehendem Fördervolumen durch industrielle Partner.
